girl was allegedly raped by a youth near here, police said today.
The girl had gone to the forest with a friend, also five years old, in Kamkole village in Medak district, about 30 kms from here, yesterday, when a youth saw them and took the victim to a secluded place and allegedly raped her, sub-inspector D Ashok of Munipally police station said.
The other girl somehow managed to escape from the spot and informed villagers about the incident, who then rushed to the jungle to rescue the child, he said, adding, she was then admitted by them to Sangareddy district hospital.
Victim's condition is however, stated to be stable, he said.
The accused, identified as Begari Nandu alias Ravi (17) is at large and the police have registered offence against him under IPC section 376 (rape), section 361 (abduction), he said.
Police have formed a special team to nab the accused at the earliest.
