Dr Vinod Verma went missing on September 12 with his compounder Ajay. His family received a ransom call demanding Rs 25 crore this afternoon.
The police is suspecting some foul play as the ransom call is very unreasonable and the family cannot afford to pay such an amount, said a senior police officer.
Special teams have been formed to trace the doctor, added the officer.
The family members of Verma have alleged that he has been abducted but no ransom call has been received till now, a senior police officer said.
Dr Verma, who stays in Faridabad with his family, has a clinic in Jaitpur area here.
