Jharkhand MLAs want monetary benefits at par with their Bihar Assembly counterparts, who draw more money than Jharkhand legislators.
"Recently I visited Bihar and met Speaker Uday Narayan Chaudhary. The MLAs are getting more (monetary) facilities there compared to Jharkhand MLAs," Jharkhand Assembly Speaker Shashank Sekhar Bhokta told reporters here today.
"We also discussed about hike in the pension of ex-MLAs, as many of them are spending life in penury in villages," he said after chairing a meeting with MLAs.
The MLAs were of the view that proposals should be sent to the government in this regard, the Speaker said.
