Kandhamal Lok Sabha constituency comprising seven Assembly segments, is spread over four districts -- Boudh, Kandhamal, Nayagarh and Ganjam.
With imposition of the Model Code of Conduct, restrictions are imposed on official visit of ministers, announcement of developmental projects, occupation of government bungalows and others in the four districts, the release said.
The by-poll was necessitated by the untimely death the BJD MP Hemendra Chandra Singh on September 5.
While polling will be held on October 15, counting of votes will take place on October 19, the release said.
