The city and mainly the southern districts of West Bengal witnessed moderate rainfall since early morning Sunday, met office said.
Intense spell of thundershowers with lightning was witnessed in some places over Kolkata, districts of North and South 24 Parganas, Nadia and Murshidabad, officials at the city weather office said.
The city's Alipore area recorded 7.3 mm rainfall, Canning in the South 24 Parganas district got 13.2 mm rain and Dumdum 2.3 mm, while Diamond Harbour witnessed the maximum rainfall with 15.1 mm.
The city and its neighbouring areas are likely to be cloudy with a few spells of rain or thundershower while the maximum and minimum temperature are likely to be around 30C Celsius and 26C Celsius respectively, the met office said.
