Taking a dig Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress today said that his government is of some chosen industrialists for which it is working.
"Modi sarkar (govt) is not just of industrialists but it is of a few chosen industrialists for whom it is working for," former Union Minister Mukul Wasnik said here.
He said that Modi-led government is pursing anti-people policies.
The Congress leader alleged that the Centre has slashed the budgetary allocation for uplift of tribals, dalits and poor which was made by the earlier UPA government.
The former Lok Sabha member said, "Modi's 'suit-boot ki sarkar' has considerably cut the budgetary allocation to Mahatma Gandhi Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MNREGA), National Health Mission, Panchayat Raj among other things."
He said that during the UPA government, MNREGA had provided employment to 5 crore poor annually.
Stating that Centre has changed name of 'Nirmal Gram Yojana' to 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan', Wasnik alleged that the Modi government reduced budgetary allocation to it by nearly Rs 9,025 crore.
According to him, the government should focus on stopping manual scavenging by implementing the rules made during the UPA government.
To a poser, he said that Modi came to power by propagating falsehood and promising moon to the people.
"After he came to power, Modi has perfected the art of speaking and turning lies into truth," he charged.
