Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Iqbal Preet Singh Sahota submitted the status report of the Moga incident to commission chairman Rajesh Bagha.
Bagha said that the incident was "unfortunate" and instructed Punjab police to immediately provide protection cover to the victim's family.

He said that the SC Commission has also recommended the State Government to provide grant of Rs 5 lakh and Rs 1.20 lakh as per SC Act to the victim's family.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal met the family and also visited the hospital in Moga where the victim's mother is being treated.

He also had confabulations with the girl's father Sukhdev Singh and expressed heard felt sympathy with the bereaved family.
Notably, Badal family is owners of the Orbit bus company.
"Whatever had happened was not good and it was the biggest sin," Sukhbir said.
