Monsoon expected to hit Bihar on June 17

Monsoon is expected to hit Bihar on June 17 and various parts of the state, including capital Patna experienced pre-monsoon showers this morning.
Met office sources said monsoon is expected to hit Purnea border on June 17 and then proceed to other parts of the state.
The pre-monsoon early morning showers today brought much needed respite from the sweltering heat weather conditions and brought down the maximum temperature by two notches from normal.
The showers were reported from Patna, Chhapra, Siwan, the sources said.
As per the met office bulletin, Patna registered 39.8 mm of rainfall since Wednesday morning, Bhagalpur 21 mm today.

Gaya was the hottest place in the state at 38.4 degrees Celsius, while Bhagalpur recorded 31.6 degrees and Purnea 33.7 degrees Celsius, the met office bulletin said.
The four major cities of Patna, Gaya, Bhagalpur and Purnea may witness partly cloudy sky with possibility of rain or thundershower tomorrow, it added.
