Police today dispelled rumours that the border gate between India and Myanmar at Moreh in Manipur was closed and said it was functioning as usual.
"There is no restriction of movement through the gate as it has never been closed," a senior police official said and urged people not to give credence to rumours contrary to the official version.
Nobody could come to the border gate on May 8 following a 24-hour general strike at Moreh called by civil bodies, demanding immediate recovery of the two Indian fishermen missing since May 2, he said.
