Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi today criticised the reported move of the Centre to shift the Jagdishpur Paper Mill project from his Amethi constituency, terming it as "revenge politics" of the NDA government.
"I have said earlier also that there was "badle ki rajniti" (revenge politics)," he told reporters in an apparent reference to the earlier scrapping of a mega food park in his constituency when they asked him about the reported plans to shift the paper mill to Maharashtra.
People of Amethi would have been benefited from this paper mill but the government was working with the "feeling of revenge" ('badle ki bhavna'), he further alleged.
When asked what would be his next step and would he raise this issue in Parliament, Gandhi said, "We have done good things for Amethi people, we will continue to work for them".
