Authorities have sought explanation from the former Madhya Pradesh minister and BJP leader Anchal Sonkar for allegedly tossing currency notes in the air -- and violating the Model of Code of Conduct -- at a programme here.
Assembly polls would be held in the state next month.
Video footage shot by local TV channels showed Sonkar and his supporters purportedly tossing notes and dancing at an Eid Milan programme in Raddi Chowki area on October 17.
Jabalpur Collector and District Electoral Officer Vivek Porwal issued a notice to Sonkar yesterday, directing him to file his reply on the issue within 48 hours, official sources said today.
