Police personnel in Madhya Pradesh will get a weekly off with immediate effect, a circular issued Tuesday by Madhya Pradesh Director General of Police Rishi Kumar Shukla stated.
The weekly off would be for all personnel posted at police stations as well as in special armed force units deployed in the districts, it said.
The weekly off initiative was earlier announced by Chief Minister Kamal Nath on December 19 after a meeting with senior police officials.
This was also one of the promises in the Congress manifesto for the November 28 Assembly polls.
