"The state government is playing into the hands of oil, sand and mining mafia and the ruling party is doing nothing for the welfare of state except looting its resources," Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee President Kantilal Bhuria and Leader of Opposition Ajay Singh told a party rally at Lahar to highlight the issue of illegal mining and rampant corruption.
Bhuria alleged that the state government was promoting corruption in the state which has made people's live miserable.
The Leader of Opposition said that during the last no-confidence motion in the state assembly he had warned the government about the mining issue.
Ajay alleged that after the BJP came to power in the state, transfer of collectors and SPs were being done on the basis of monetary considerations.
He also alleged that the BJP had promised in its manifesto to waive Rs 50,000 loan of farmers but after coming to power it has forgotten the assurance conveniently.
Besides the party had also promised to provide jobs to one lakh people but has not done anything in that direction.
The ruling party had also promised to supply 24 hours power supply in the rural areas but the real situation is that electricity is being supplied in these areas for just six hours and despite that the villagers were getting highly inflated bills.
Ajay also alleged that rampant corruption took place in the examination conducted by MP Professional Examinations Board for the post of constables in the Transport Department and added that if Congress comes back to power in 2013 then it will not allow the Board to conduct such tests.
