MP Minister directs installation of new lifts in hospital
Press Trust of India Indore Following the death of an ailing woman inside a mal-functioning lift a few days ago, Madhya Pradesh transport minister and in-charge minister for Indore district Bhupendra Singh today directed that all the three lifts at the government run M Y Hospital here be replaced within 3 months.
During the visit to the hospital, he said that modern lifts should be installed in place of the existing lifts and added that he himself would inaugurate the new lifts on January 1, next year.
On September 26, Shahida, a 25-year-old ailing woman died inside the lift while it got stuck between two floors for some 20 minutes.
The minister also ordered inquiry into an incident at the hospital where a ceiling fan had crashed on a patient.
