The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) has approved Haryana government's 11 project proposals involving investment of Rs 80 crore for upgradation and augmentation of industrial infrastructure in the state.
The project proposals include upgradation of Industrial Development (ID) Centre at Bahadurgarh, Karnal, Kundli, Panipat, Rewari, industrial estate at Rai, Industrial Development Colony at Karnal and Rohtak.
They were submitted by state owned Haryana State Industrial & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (HSIIDC) and the Department of Industries.
Besides, go ahead was also given for preparation of Detailed Project Report (DPR) for CFC (Common Facility Centre) in Foundry Cluster in Samalkha, conducting Diagnostic Study Report (DSR) of Printing & Packaging Cluster in Rai, final approval of Agriculture Implements Cluster at Karnal, said an official spokesman here.
"These project proposals would involve investments in excess of Rs 80 crore, out of which Industrial Development (ID) projects will involve investments in excess of Rs 50 crore and nearly half of the project cost will be borne by the Ministry of MSME, and remaining by the state government/HSIIDC and allottees," he said.
Recognising that a cluster approach is most suitable for provision of institutional support for the MSME sector, the state government has decided to establish various clusters in partnership with the industry and financial support from the central government, he said.
These clusters would meet the requirements of common facilities - product development, economising of production costs, quality marking, lab testing, effluent treatment, and other such facilities, he added.
Haryana has identified nearly 29 clusters in the state across various sectors like textile, stainless steel, footwear, print & packaging, pharma, agriculture implements, leather, engineering, scientific instruments, etc.
To give impetus to MSME projects in northern and southern Haryana, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises is also establishing Technology Centres at IMT Rohtak and Industrial Growth Centre at village Saha in Ambala district over an area of nearly 20 acres and 10 acres, respectively.
It will involve investments of more than Rs 100 crore in each of these projects.
