"At the meeting, Mulayam asked party nominees to remain active in their areas and ensure SP's victory in maximum number of seats.
"He also stressed better coordination between the party organisation and candidates," party spokesperson Rajendra Chowdhury said.
Mulayam and Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav held a closed-door meeting with all party candidates to review poll preparedness.
Party candidate from Kanpur, Raju Srivastava, when asked about the meeting, said he was told to highlight problems in his area.
In their addresses, both Mulayam and Akhilesh termed Lok Sabha elections as crucial and asked cadidates and party office-bearers to shun differences, if any, and work unitedly to achieve the goal of winning maximum number of seats.
