Mumbai Cong stages anti-Modi protest after Rahul detention

Congress in Mumbai today burnt photos of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to protest the detention of party Vice-President Rahul Gandhi by Delhi Police, accusing him of functioning in an "autocratic" manner.
"We seems to be living in a democracy where there is no room for a dialogue and any citizen can be put behind bars and punished for merely speaking against policies of the Government," senior Congress leader and former Maharashtra Minister Arif Naseem Khan told reporters here.
"If PM Modi does not change his autocratic style of functioning soon, world leaders will start comparing him with North Korean despot Kim Jong-un," he added.

Khan, along with Mumbai Congress President Sanjay Nirupam and other leaders and workers, staged protest against Modi outside the party office in South Mumbai. Congress workers also burnt pictures of Modi.
Rahul was today detained twice by Delhi Police after he tried to meet the family members of the ex-serviceman who allegedly committed suicide over the One Rank One Pension (OROP) issue.
Ram Kishan Grewal, the 70-year-old ex-serviceman from Haryana's Bhiwani district who yesterday consumed poison, was apparently upset over implementation of the OROP policy.
Top Congress leaders in the national capital flayed the action of Delhi Police, which comes under the Union Home Ministry. Rahul said the police action was symbolic of "undemocratic" mentality of the Modi Government.
