According to a police spokesperson, the body of Raj Gupta was found yesterday on the railway tracks and a suicide note was found from his body.
In the note, Gupta had written that he regretted his role in a recent case of robbery and murder.
He had also asked the police to stop harassing his father, whom they had allegedly subjected to a rough interrogation while pursuing the robbery case, as he had no role in the matter.
Station-in-charge Dinesh Tripathi of Akbarpur police station, however, denied the charges that they had beaten up or harassed the deceased youth's father.
Tripathi said they had only questioned Gupta's father in connection with the April 26 incident.
The body of the youth has been sent for a post-mortem and a probe has been initiated into his death, police added.
