Murder accused dies of heart attack

A murder-accused, detained under Goondas Act and lodged in the Central Jail here, died of massive heart attack in the wee hours of today at the Government Hospital.
40-year-old Arumuga Nainar of Palayamkottai in Tirunelveli district, was lodged in the Central Jail in Chennai on charges of his involvement in a murder case.
Since he was also involved in some criminal cases, Arumugham was detained under Goondas Act and shifted to Coimbatore Jail in March last, considering security aspects, police said.
Arumugam complained of chest pain late last night and was immediately shifted to the Government Hospital, where he died in the wee hours.
