Mustard seed futures rise 0.35 pc on spot demand

Mustard seed prices rose Rs 13 to Rs 3,743 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators accumulated positions amid a recovery in spot markets.
Market players said resuming of demand in spot markets at the prevailing levels triggered participants to create positions.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, mustard seed for delivery in June month jumped by Rs 13 or 0.35 per cent to Rs 3,743 per quintal, with an open interest of 46,510 lots.
Mustard seed for most-active delivery this month also recovered by Rs 10 or 0.27 per cent to Rs 3,691 per quintal, with an open interest of 47,920 lots.
