Welcoming the initiative of the state government in bringing all round development to the State, a meeting of the tribal bodies shared reservations with certain clauses of the resolution, especially with regard to relaxation in ILP, the Hoho said in a statement today.
The meeting resolved that the land and transfer of ownership contradicts the age old customary practice of the Nagas and therefore asserted that ILP should in no way be relaxed on the pretext of bringing in professional workers or investors.
The meeting of the tribal bodies in the state under the aegis of Naga Hoho was held here yesterday to discuss issues relating to the NSDZ and the Nagaland Total Liquor Prohibition (NLTP) Act, 1989.
The House expressed that the current set of resolution on the Nagaland Special Development Zone (NSDZ) passed by the Nagaland Legislative Assembly on March 24, 2014, needs further debate and modification, the statement said.
"The NLTP Act has become a mockery which has brought about the existence of syndicates, gangsters, drug addicts," it said.
