Naidu today reviewed the functioning of the health sector on the final day of the District Collectors conference here.
"The Chief Minister has directed officials to appoint medical experts, including superintendents, on contract basis in government hospitals to improve medical services in the state," an official release said.
The health sector in the state needs reforms and it should be totally revamped, the Chief Minister said.
He instructed officials that within a week advisory committees should be constituted at all the government hospitals.
He expressed satisfaction that mother and child health care system in the state is "considered as the best" and we (the state government) are also receiving good results on reducing the mother mortality rate and infant mortality rate, it added.
