Nalco today signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with National Skill Development Fund (NSDF) and National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), the navratna company said in a statement.
This pact is a result of an umbrella MoU signed between the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE) and the Ministry of Mines to work together in multiple areas under this ambitious mission, it added.
Nalco will contribute around Rs 1.3 crore to the NSDF and NSDC will implement the project through its Training Partner network and Sector Skill Councils, it said.
It has also been agreed upon that Nalco, NSDC and the SCMS will work together to evaluate the creation and development of centres of excellence in Odisha and vocational education in schools adopted by Nalco.
This MoU presents a comprehensive and integrated partnership in furthering the Skill India mission over the long-term, MSDE Secretary Rohit Nandan said.
Nalco CMD T K Chand said the firm is committed to play a part in lending its expertise in mining and related sectors and also financial support to the Skill India mission.
