The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), country's central agency against drug crimes, today launched itself on the popular social media platform -- Facebook -- with an aim to spread its message and involve people participation.
The Facebook page was launched by agency Chief Rajiv Mehta who has been credited with beginning some of the best practises in the NCB and for increasing efforts to curb the drug and illegal narcotics trade.
NCB Director General Mehta said the aim of the agency to connect with the people on this popular social media platform is not only to keep people updated of the developments in the 'war against drugs' but also for communicating its efforts in this domain.
The NCB is the central anti-narcotics agency which has its offices across the country and it functions to implement the offences under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) and other predicate offences.
It functions under the Union Home Ministry.
