The incident occurred at Somnath Vatika in Nofra (Naval Officers Residential Area) in afternoon when Rahul Madanmohan was headed to meet his school friends.
As he was walking, the flame tree suddenly collapsed on him, police said.
Rahul suffered serious injuries in the incident, police said, adding that he was rushed to the Naval hospital INS Ashwini with the help of Navy Police, but was declared dead before admission by doctors there.
Rahul's father Vipankumar Madanmohan works as a Colonel (Medical Surgeon) in same hospital, they said, adding that Rahul's body was handed over to his family members after postmortem.
