Naxals kill SPO in Maharashtra

A 28-year-old Special Police Officer (SPO) was kidnapped and killed by naxalites on the suspicion of being a police informer in Bhamragad taluka here, police said today.
Shankar Wadde, an SPO working with Laheri sub-police station, was kidnapped by naxalites on October 7, following which a search operation was conducted by the police to locate him. His body was found today, police said.
The naxalites killed Wadde on the suspicion that he was working as a police informer, they said, adding the slain cop had worked as a police informer for a brief period in 2013.
The deceased was a resident of Malampaddur village in the district, they said.
Further investigation was under way, police said.
