Naxals, police exchange fire in Gadchiroli
Press Trust of India Nagpur A group of Naxals and police today exchanged fire in adjoining Gadchiroli district in eastern Maharashtra, but there was no report of casualties on either side.
The gunbattle took place at Malewada under Kurkheda taluka when the Naxals opened fire on a police patrol, who retaliated, police said.
No one was hurt from either side, they said.
However, one pistol, three cartridges, one claymore mine and a pressure bomb were recovered from the encounter spot, police added.
