"We ask PDP to get ready for a public trial for (its) role in the 2008 agitation," NC provincial president Devender Singh Rana during a workers' meeting at Ashar in Banihal belt of Ramban district.
PDP had tried to hoodwink the public and conceal the sinister conspiracy it had hatched along with the BJP to divide the state along communal lines, Rana alleged.
The 2008 move to transfer 99 acres of forest land to the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board in the main Kashmir valley to set up temporary shelters and facilities for Hindu pilgrims had led to a huge controversy in the state.
While protests took place in Kashmir valley against the land transfer, demonstrations in favour of the move were held in Jammu.
The proposed transfer was eventually cancelled.
