The NCP MLC Vidya Chavan today criticised the Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis over law and order situation in the state against the backdrop of some women legislators receiving led messages.
"The CM appears to be not serious about maintaining the law and order situation in the state. As many women legislatures are getting lewd messages, it gives a message to society that Fadnavis is not serious about his (Home) ministry," Chavan said.
The MLC said she had received an obscene SMS on the night of the results of the BMC elections on February 23.
"I had filed a complaint in Vile Parle police station the next day (February 24). He (the accused) claimed to be an RTI activist. He was produced before Andheri court and the case is going on," she said.
Chavan said she wanted to ask the CM about what is happening about maintaining law and order in the state.
Shiv Sena spokesperson Neelam Gorhe had last month complained to Mumbai police claiming that she received a threat call in which the caller had abused her in a dirty language and threatened to kill her.
Mumbai-based BJP functionary Shaina NC too had filed a complaint after receiving lewd messages.
Congress MLA Varsha Gaikwad also allegedly received obscene messages recently on her mobile phone and registered a case with police in Mumbai.
