The two-member fact finding team from National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) today returned to the state capital after failing to reach at Nagada village of Jajpur district where 19 children had died allegedly due to malnutrition.
Team members Roopa Kapoor and Priyanka Singh could not reach the hill top village due to inclement weather and inaccessible road, an official said.
The team members, however, visited some slums and met people at Ashokjhar and the relief centre at Deogan village in the foothill.
"There is no road to the village. Now Anganwadi workers have started reaching the village. We have talked to local people and the district officials," Kapoor told reporters.
The team members had yesterday held discussion with the Jajpur District collector, CDMO and child welfare committee (CWC) officials at Kaliapani and reviewed the condition of children in Nagada village.
