The National Commission for Women (NCW) has directed Telangana Commissioner of Police Anjani Kumar to apprise it of the probe conducted in the alleged murder of a 27-year-old pregnant woman in Hyderabad by her family members, a NCW official said.
The woman was allegedly strangled with a saree by her family members on Thursday morning for marrying without their permission.
Taking suo motu cognisance of the case, the NCW has written to the commissioner of police to apprise the commission of the detailed action taken in the matter at the earliest, the official said.
