"The entire central government, it seems, is opposed to young people on JNU issue. If the government cracks a whip in such a fashion on them (young people), how they will find a way out to move ahead," the Congress chief whip in the Lok Sabha told reporters here.
Scindia demanded that the Centre should take action against people who chanted "anti-national" slogans rather than implicating innocent persons and sending them to jail.
Criticising the NDA government, he said it has literally "banned" the freedom of expression and is taking action against innocent people and asked is this not injustice.
Why the government has failed to arrest people who raised anti-national slogans in the JNU campus. I demand that the government should arrest them as soon as possible, he added.
Asked to comment on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent veiled attack on Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi in Parliament, he said Modi's comment was actually aimed at his party and (the) Cabinet which has failed to deliver in last two years.
"All know their performance," Scindia added.
"Some people age but their understanding does not grow. Hence they take time to understand," Modi had said, without naming anyone.
