The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has sealed a restaurant-bar in the posh Khan Market after it was found serving hookah despite a ban.
'The Last Call' in the upscale Khan Market was sealed last week.
"We sealed the restro-bar after it was found serving hookah during an inspection. If there is a ban, it has to be followed," a senior NDMC official told PTI.
Repetitive calls and text messages to the restaurant's owner went unanswered.
The Delhi government had last year banned hookah bars in the city and asked the police and municipal corporations to immediately cancel licenses of restaurants with hookah bars.
The move by the government came after the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare had issued a notification prohibiting the use of hookahs.
