The 9th battalion of the NDRF based at Bihta in Patna district spread the message through awareness programme over video and street shows.
Commandant Vijay Sinha talked about the ill effects of drugs and other intoxicants to the jawans and common people at a function at the battalion headquarter at Bihta, according to a statement from the NDRF.
Deputy Commandant Manish Ranjan in his address focused on physical, mental and economic losses due to consumption of intoxicants.
Commandant Vijay Sinha expressed anxiety over pace with which the menace of drugs and consumption of intoxicants was engulfing the country and society and exhorted youths in particular to keep away from intoxicants, which he said was life killing.
