NE cement cos cut price to pass GST benefits to customers

Top cement companies of the North East region have reduced cement prices by up to Rs 15 per bag to pass on GST benefits to customers, a release here said today.
Cement companies such as Star Cement, Dalmia Cement and Topcem Cement have made this reduction in cement prices effective from July 1, the release quoting the cement majors, said.
Stating that North Eastern cement companies are first in the country to announce a price cut in the GST regime, it said other cement companies have also made announcements of rate deduction.
The representatives of the cement companies said in line with government objective of making One Nation One Tax regime with implementation of GST, they are fully prepared to implement it.

Accordingly, the cement companies have passed on GST benefits to the consumers by reducing prices up to Rs 15 per bag, the release said.
The actual benefit varies from state to state, depending on the pre and post-GST rates, the release added.
