After receiving much acclaim for "Neerja", writer Sanyukta Chawla Shaikh is all set to work on her next for filmmaker Subhash Ghai.
Sanyukta wrote the dialogues for the recent Sonam Kapoor starrer and has now teamed up with her co-writer of "Neerja" for a film produced by Ghai.
"My next film is for Mukta Arts, it will be produced by Subhash Ghai. I will be teaming up with Saiwyn Quadras after 'Neerja' again, so that's a great thing," Sanyukta told PTI.
"It is a modern day relevant film about changing dynamics in relationship. It's a man-woman story. We are still writing it and the search for a director is on," she added.
The writer is also developing some script for the director of Bobby Jasoos, which is at a nascent stage.
Meanwhile, Sanyukta has written a web series called "Girl in the City". The writer feels web series is a "demanding" format but is fun.
"Limited time format is very demanding. It is interesting and challenging as it requires slightly different form of writing. But all good writing should bring challenges. All good writers are as good as the director. So its a team effort," she said
The series is helmed by "Bobby Jasoos" director Samir Shaikh and has actor Anand Tiwari as a project consultant.
The show will premiere on Facebook on April 28, followed by a television airing on bindass channel, before finally releasing on YouTube.
Sanyukta says the series, set in Mumbai, aims to chronicle the struggle of a girl.
"It is about aspirations, changing dynamics of a young girl who is embarking on her career. The reality of her approach is not only driven by external factors but inner experiences."
The series stars Mithila Palkar and "Udaan" actor Rajat Barmecha.
Sanyukta, who has written films like "Jodi Breakers", "Love Breakup Zindagi", feels the real challenge while writing a web series is to hold the attention span of the viewers.
"Today, there is so much of choice with the viewers. From a clicking a button of the remote to the Internet. The challenge is to find something which is worthy and significant enough to hold their attention.
