A 40-year-old man from Nepal was killed allegedly by his Nepali friend after an argument over a petty issue, police said today.
The man, identified only as Jyoti, died after his friend Padam Singh (40) hit him repeatedly with a brick last night. Both are citizens of Nepal and were living together in Sai Baba Nagar here, said Habibganj Police Station in-charge Virendra Chouhan.
Both consumed liquor and an argument broke out between them over a petty issue. Singh attacked Jyoti in an inebriated condition, killing him on the spot, he said.
Later, a woman friend of the deceased registered a complaint.
Singh has been arrested and booked for murder, the police said, adding further investigation was underway.
