Amid the row over JNU hosting a commemorative function for Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru, new posters have appeared on the varsity campus terming India as a "jail of different nationalities" and supporting Kashmir's right to self-determination.
The posters, titled 'Death to Fascism, Power to People', were reportedly pasted on the campus on Friday night.
According to university sources, the posters have been put up by a three-member group of students, called 'The New Materialists'.
The posters refer to the February 9 event and subsequent arrest of three student leaders and JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar and said "unnecessary and unwanted slogans", which were not supported by any ideology, were raised during the event.
The posters also condemn the death of Hyderabad Central University Dalit scholar Rohith Vemula.
