The home or rainbasera, established in collaboration with the Bhopal Municipal Corporation, has come up near the railway station here.
Bhopal Collector Nishant Warwade has made available a big hall of the Government Habibia School to house the poor people, who were staying on footpath, and provide them relief from biting cold, a Corporation release said.
The step has been taken as part of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's mission to provide roof over the heads of the homeless who are living in the cold, it said.
Last week, Chouhan, along with members of his office visited shelter homes at night here and chatted with their residents. He asked officials to ensure the poor got adequate firewoods and blankets to keep themselves warm at night.
