Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council Chairman Om Prakash Sharma today administered oath to 35 newly-elected members.
Congratulating the new members, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, himself a member of the Upper House, said maximum number of youths have been elected to the Council this time.
It would not be wrong to say it is the youngest House in the country, he said.
"I hope the senior members will cooperate with the new ones and guide them," he said.
He said when he took oath as a Council member, the Opposition's strength was more than the ruling benches, but the ruling side is in majority today.
