Newborn girl decapitated and dumped in Thane

The decapitated body of a new born baby girl was found abandoned in Mira Road here, police said today.
The remains of the unidentified infant were recovered from an open space near Jingad housing complex in the locality, they said.
The Mira Road police have registered an offence under sections 302 and 201 of the IPC against unknown persons and a hunt has been initiated for those involved in the crime.
Police is checking the CCTV footage in the area to catch the culprits and further investigation is underway.
