Father's Day, which celebrates fatherhood, is observed across the world on the third Sunday of June.
Vaastav Foundation would raise the issue of desertion of the children of single parents, who stay away from their partners because of divorce or separation.
"We wish to eliminate the cruel alienation of children by the fathers who have divorced or separated from their partners. To bring this issue to the fore, we have organized a campaign in which we would hold a sit-in protest at Azad Maidan, which would be followed by a signature campaign at CST train station," the organization's mentor Amit Deshpande said.
The organization envisages reforms in family laws with this initiative, he said, adding there is higher criminal tendency among the kids who are deprived of their father's care and attention.
The NGO seeks speedy disposal of divorce cases among other demands for child welfare, he said.
