The accused were involved in at least eight cases and had together snatched chains worth about Rs 4.5 lakh, police said.
Following a tip-off, a team led by inspector G Raghu Srinivas nabbed Saligrama Satish (19), Kolusula Shiva (26) and seven under-age youths near YMCA area in the city and recovered 182 gm of gold ornaments. Pilla Satish and Alapanna Ramu managed to escape.
Deputy Commissioner of Police J Muralidhar and ADCP S Varada Raju said the gang-members rode Pulsar bike, wearing helmets or with their faces covered with handkerchiefs, and targeted women in deserted areas.
