Chotu fell into the privately-owned borewell while playing around it last evening at Khyarada village of the district, Superintendent of Police (Karauli) Amandeep Singh said.
Rescue operation is on in full swing and an emergency team has been called from the state capital to assist the works, Singh said.
Three JCBs and one big L&T machine (digger) are working round the clock to save the boy, the SP said.
The incident took place when the boy and his mother went to the field to feed cattle and later, while playing he fell down into the borewell, he said.
