Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was today bestowed with the 'Anuvrata Puraskar 2016' for implementing total prohibition in the state.

The Anuvrata Puruskar was given by Jain Swetambhar Terapanth Dharma Sangh Anuvrata Mahasamiti. The award has been given in the past to former President Shankar Dayal Sharma, former Vice President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat and former Prime Minister Gulzari Lal Nanda.

"This is a revolutionary step in the direction of social reform," he said.
