Nitish recalls bravery of Babu Kuer Singh

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today highlighted the role of 1857 hero Babu Kuer Singh and emphasised that his brave deeds should gain recognition at the national level.
Kumar was speaking at a function to commemorate Kuer Singh's martyrdom.
"The brave deeds of Babu Kuer Singh still excites nationalists and it cannot be forgotten. These should get recognition at the national level," the chief minister said.
He had united every sections of the society - farmers, youths and women. Muslims as well Hindus were part of his armed activities against the British, Kumar said.
Kuer Singh had initiated steps in the direction of women empowerment.
Kumar said the 160th anniversary of Kuer Singh's martyrdom would be organised at Gyan Bhawan in the state capital.
