Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today held a meeting of the legislators of the ruling combine to obtain their feedback on the functioning of his government.
The meeting at Kumar's residence of JD(U), RJD, Congress and CPI MLAs and an Independent backing the government went on for more than two hours during which the chief minister sought to know about the problems being faced in their constituencies, legislator Sanjay Singh told reporters.
After hearing the legislators out, Kumar assured them that prompt action would be taken on any issues raised by them, Singh said.
RJD Legislature Party leader Abdul Bari Siddiqui and his Congress counterpart Sadanand Singh also attended the meeting.
RJD, Congress and CPI along with one Independent MLA are supporting the JD(U)-led government in the state. While the Independent, Dulal Goswami, is a minister, RJD, Congress and CPI are extending support from outside.
According to Singh, the majority of the MLAs sought speeding up of road projects in their constituencies besides the streamlining of the procurement of paddy.
Singh, who is also the JD(U) spokesman, said that the meeting was held to ascertain the problems prevailing in the constituencies of the MLAs and not for speeding up the merger of the erstwhile Janata Parivar parties.
