The JD(U) has fielded Vijay Haari as its candidate in Ratlam-Jhabua Lok Sabha seat, where the by-election is caused by the death of Dileep Singh Bhuria, who won the seat on BJP ticket in 2014.
In what is seen as a keen contest, CPI, CPM, Gondwana Gantantra Party, Rashtriya Samanta Dal and Bahujan Sangarsh Dal have pledged support to the JD(U) contestant in the by-poll.
"Both (Sharad) Yadav and Kumar will campaign for our joint candidate," Madhya Pradesh JD(U)chief Govind Yadav told reporters here.
While Congress has put up former Union Minister Kantilal Bhuria, sitting MLA Nirmala Bhuria, daughter of Dileep Singh Bhuria, has been fielded by the BJP to defend the seat, seeking to cash in on the sympathy factor.
