Crime Branch Police today submitted the preliminary probe report into the recent suicide bid by four athletes of a Sports Authority of India (SAI) centre here, in which one of them died, saying there was no evidence of ragging by the seniors.
There was no evidence of ragging by seniors, abetting suicide at the SAI centre, Police said.
The prelimnary report, into the May 6 incident that took place at the Water Sports centre of SAI at Punnamada, was submitted to the Superintendent of Police of Crime Branch today, they said.
Of the four girl trainees, who had consumed 'Othalanga', a poisonous fruit in a suicide pact last month, 15-year-old Aparna Ramabhadraban had died while the others have recovered after prolonged treatment.
The girls had alleged mental and physical harassment by some seniors.
The parents of the trainees have been demanding a CBI probe to bring out the truth.
Meanwhile, Parents and local action council members will be staging a fast in front of the SAI centre here tomorrow to press for their demand.
The relatives of the girls had earlier dismissed the SAI DG's preliminary report that there was no ragging, terming it as 'baseless'.
