"I don't feel that there are any major differences between BJP and its ally Shiv Sena. See, when there is alliance, it is obvious to have difference of opinion, but at the end the alliance exists in the interest of the state and country," Geete told reporters in Goa.
"BJP and Shiv Sena are two different parties, having different ideology, thinking and way of working," he said.
Geete claimed that Shiv Sena-BJP alliance in Maharashtra is the oldest one in the country.
"Unfortunately, in last (Maharashtra Legislative Assembly) elections, both the parties fought individually," he said.
The minister said after the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, BJP kept its promise and gave Shiv Sena posts in the Union Cabinet despite getting clear majority.
"Despite having clear majority with 283 MPs, the Modi government as a commitment to it's alliance partners gave them equal participation in the government, including to Shiv Sena," he said.
